2005 News

Hello everyone! Well its time to fill you in on what's happening so far this year. 2005 has been interesting ,I have moved into a new home which I am having a blast fixing up. The biggest news is that I am training like an animal for my 1st Pro show!! I am shooting for the Europa Super Show in Texas in Sept. I may also try and do the Bulk Nutrition show in Charlotte SC 9/16 - 10/01 since the two shows are so close, only 2 weeks apart. I am working around several injuries, tendonitus, fibromyalgia and 2 herniated disks. And at Christmas I did something to my right knee while visiting my family, I was not even training when I did it, I just went to stand up real fast and POP! I must be getting old! LOL! Actually, the Drs, tell me that because I do lift weights and stay in shape that I have been able to get away with alot. Being a certified Personal Trainer helps. People ask me why I dont just take off a year and heal? Well I say: I was blessed last year to finally get my Pro card and darn if I am going to let anything keep me from the Pro stage!

At 44yrs. old I figure "Let's do this while I still can!!" Plus, its a labor of LOVE. But its not for everybody...that's for sure!! My Team Universe buddy and New IFBB Pro Colette Nelson will be doing her first Pro show in NY in May (5/21) and I will be there to cheer her on, so if you can make it to NY, I promise you an awesome debut from her! She is one of the best female posers out there!! She totally ROCKED Spain, at the IFBB Amatuer World Championships, I took 4th place there in the Lightweight class and we had a blast!!! I will keep you posted on what's happening with me in my Daily Journal, so keep coming back!! Take a minute to view my gallery and I now have a "Members Only site, thanks to Colette Nelson!! Please e-mail me and let me know whats on your mind!! I LOVE getting e-mails for all of you!! Take good care and thank you so much for your support!

Peace,

VIcki Nixon

VICKI WON PRO CARD
By Vicki Nixon

On August 7th of this year I competed in NY at the Team Universe as a lightweight 114lbs. I was there to have fun and do my best. As fate has it I took the OVERALL title which earned me the IFBB pro card. I was so shocked that I had taken the whole show! It is a rare thing for a little lightweight to win that entire show. I was beside myself, my dream of becoming a Pro had finally come true. I was also invited by Jim Manion and Sandy Ranali to go to Spain and compete at the IFBB World's Amateur as their lightweight. Wow! What an honor. I did indeed make that LONG trip (8 hr. plane ride.) I took my husband Brian with me....I go nowhere without him!

TEAM UNIVERSE IN SPAIN
By Vicki Nixon

I was invited to represent the USA against Spain to compete at the IFBB World’s Amateur. Our 5 day stay in Spain was one to always remember. The girls from the USA were so suportive of each other, we truely stuck together as a "Team" we were there to do our best and we did! I placed 4th in the lightweight division. The Heavy weight Colette Nelson won the overall. Debbie Patton the middle weight placed 11th and we also had a beautiful Figure girl Kate Shelby place 4th in her class. What a proud day that was for the USA Team. I am now setting my sights on my 1st Pro show, maybe sometime in August 2005. I will keep you all posted. Take care and keep checking back for new News!
